You see, yesterday I went out and bought a new handset, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. I believe it’s a fine piece of engineering at an affordable price, and I will be experimenting with it in the days to come.

Other than that, nothing of note has happened – violin lessons are still going on, and I’m still as bored as ever at home. The latter probably won’t last after I teach myself some symbian programming.

Lately I’ve been feeling like changing the design of the website again, and I will probably either remove or archive all previous posts. I guess it took me a long time to realize that all I really want is a personal blog without all this web development crap.

Looking forward to telling tales of my adventures when I’m back. Provided I don’t fall off a cliff or something.
Hell, I’ll be back anyway.
Later,

If there’s one thing I hate about being home, it’s the power cuts. It isn’t usually so bad since the inverter kicks in when the local power source pulls out, but during the past few days that thing has been acting up and a power cut means no electricity whatsoever for me.

Which also means no air conditioning and no router. Fortunately, I use a laptop and don’t automatically lose all my work like my sister does. Also fortunately, the inverter was fixed yesterday and power cuts only mean a drop in voltage that lasts seconds.

I woke up early today, which is rather unusual during vacations, and read the newspaper. It was somewhat hilarious, to be honest, and I must say that the world must be hard pressed for tragic incidents if ridiculous stuff like what I read is being published.

Still working on that layout for Code Ledger, though that one might only last a few weeks unless it happens to grow on me.

Let’s hope it does.

It’s the end of spring quarter’s week 10, the last week of classes for the year. At least for those who aren’t going to be taking any classes over the summer. I happen to be one of these people, fortunately. I really need a break from this madness.

Somehow, I was able to finish all my assignments and projects on time. All that’s left for me to do now is to study for the finals and hope for the best. Actually, I also need to pack up my stuff and move it into a storage unit since I’m going home for the summer.

The only interesting thing going on right now is the Tiger Fest I can watch from my window. Looks like a really lame event, so I’m not going to go there. The weather’s really nice, so I have my window open – which also means I have to put up with the awful music playing at the fest.

There seem to be a lot of people at the fest, and they must be really bored, too. I can tell because they’re all standing in a crowd and watching the most boring game of volleyball ever, while others are playing catch with lacrosse raquets. Then there are the people who find both of those activities boring and are just walking around in random directions. Maybe they’re looking for a way to escape the horrible music.

In any case, that’s all the time I have for today. I decided to write despite not really having anything to say because I’m trying to post once weekly, at least.

I just realized that it’s been pretty long since I posted last – just about two weeks. So I’m going to give you a quick update on what’s been going on in my life.

First off, week 9 of the quarter just got over, which means I’m really busy and finals are coming up soon. My room has been getting progressively messier despite my efforts to clean it every now and then. Last week, I even spilled a gallon of detergent on the carpet. That was a nightmare – it took me a whole pack of tissues, bottles of water, and a vacuum cleaner to get rid of it. Not only that, the vacuum cleaner had no filter thanks to some wonderful people I live with and my room was covered in sawdust and suds when I got done. Needless to say, that was not pleasant in the least.

As for my endeavors with violin education, I’ve been given contact information for some teachers, and I’ll be getting in touch with them soon. I’ll probably find a teacher back home for the summer, and then continue from fall with a different one. The books I talked about in my previous post have now arrived, and I look forward to learning from them.

Also, I’ve been working on a couple of tutorials, which I’ll try to be done with soon. Good things come to those who wait!
