Today was a pretty drab day, I gave up on making a new layout for my website and my violin instructor didn’t show up due to rain. He never comes when it rains, I wonder what’s up with him. He doesn’t even bring his own violin, so it’s not like he’s trying to protect that. Perhaps he drives a two-wheeler and cannot avoid being drenched.

Rain is always nice here, and the day’s weather is usually great afterward. Too bad I have an aversion to going out due to not having anything to do in the great outdoors. Having a huge amount of free time, I’ve been devouring movies, anime, music, and anything else I can get my hands on. By the way, by music I mean sheets of music that I play, there is no piracy going on here. Honest. :)

The title of this post comes from Bounen no Xam’d. I like it because it makes a good question for several situations. For example, to startle people right after they tell you where they’re from.

While I would love to sit here and type all night, I feel like going to get something to drink right now, so I will end this post…here. How’s that for decisiveness? Wait…OH.

Yeah, yeah, I’ve been back for quite a while now…but nothing has really happened for me to blog about – until recently, that is.

You see, yesterday I went out and bought a new handset, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. I believe it’s a fine piece of engineering at an affordable price, and I will be experimenting with it in the days to come.

Other than that, nothing of note has happened – violin lessons are still going on, and I’m still as bored as ever at home. The latter probably won’t last after I teach myself some symbian programming.

Lately I’ve been feeling like changing the design of the website again, and I will probably either remove or archive all previous posts. I guess it took me a long time to realize that all I really want is a personal blog without all this web development crap.

Today is a special day, for it marks the beginning of my life as an “intermediate” violinist. I just received my brand new Cecilio CVN-200, whose name suggests some sort of amazingly innovative technology and an over the top price tag.

Actually, it is quite a simple violin, and is pretty decent considering how cheap it was. The case is quite sturdy, and it comes with all sorts of nice accessories which make life just a little bit easier. Now before this begins to sound like a paid review (which it’s not, I swear!), I must point out that it has its flaws – the pegs won’t stay tuned for very long unless you happen to have peg drops, and the bows it came with are slightly warped.

I plan to practice playing it whenever I can, if only because I would waste that time browsing the internet anyway.

The case for my Cecilio CVN-200

The Cecilio CVN-200 itself

I apologize for not providing higher quality photos, I’m hoping to preserve my bandwidth in the long run.

In other news, I might audition for the private lessons offered by RIT for orchestra violinists. Maybe, just maybe, they’ll let a soloist take that course…obviously, Karine is not a soloist, so I won’t be getting as much out of it as I could elsewhere.

As some of you already know, I moved into a new room last weekend. I no longer have a roommate, which cost me $360 more than what one would normally pay for a room. It was worth it, in my opinion, because now I have more than enough space to have a queen bed, a command center, two of every furnishing, and plenty of room to spare.

There are also windows next to my study desk and bed, and they even face the sun. I don’t even turn the lights on (during the day) anymore. I do need to do some cleaning up though, since I seem to make a mess everyday.

One of my dressers is stuffed full of clothes that I was too lazy to fold. I’m not even sure if they’re clean, to be honest. I was going to take care of them today, but I doubt I’ll have the time. Have to go to a review for a quiz tomorrow, need to do my laundry, need to write a cover letter, and of course have to eat some food.

It looks like this blog is turning into a personal blog from a topical blog, but hey, I like being able to post whatever I want. :)
