The time has come. Time to discard the sheaths and hold our naked blades to the sky, as we march towards the battlefield.

And this is what the farewell marked. It was so much fun, vultures from all over town came over and wondered when we would start dying of boredom. Nevertheless, it didn’t stop the trigger-happy cameramen from shooting everyone in sight – heck, I was caught with a couple of firearms myself – and the farewell…well…fared well.

Pranav, Dhruv and I arrived a bit early because I had to get my physics practical file checked, and because we didn’t have much to do back home. After a few moments of listening to Subodh (sir) blabber about “late/incomplete work won’t be checked”, I turned to leave, only to be told to leave the file on his table. From this and past observations, I infer that his weakness happens to be watching people leave when he still has something to say.

After that, we dawdled for a while on the assembly ground and were later shepherded into the football ground where the real “action” was. The highlight? Cheesy skits, dances we’d seen before and a couple of “judges” who were apparently Bachelors in Buffoonery (B.B.). Boy, I sure was glad they didn’t go in for postgraduate. The only fun thing that was happening was the unscheduled appearances of 12thies on stage.

Food was bearable, no one seemed to have a problem keeping it down (even if they did, they didn’t lose their lunch in public), and I was able to make a video which, in my opinion, is the worst video I have ever made, thanks to the fact that I have precious little time to spare.

That reminds me, trilead tetraoxide is not quite red lead, its rather an isomer. At least thats what I think, and because I will never have any critical use for read lead, I don’t care if I’m wrong. Time for me to go. Good luck for the boards, people.
